Sunday - All in a Day's Work

Untitled, oil pastel on paper, 8"x10"

Not much gets done on a Sunday - for most of us. It is a time to organize things, clear mail, pay bills, plan for the coming week. It is on a Sunday that goals get revised and adjusted.

I'm sure most of us once in a while try to reset goals, make plans and replan. The increasing momentum of the day, that almost doesn't stop, gets a brake on a weekend. Most often it is a deliberate brake. Otherwise, the machine might burn out. Once in a while we need to stop and look back, correct things. Only then we can move forward, with renewed energy.

This is the time to recuperate and renew.

Art in Music, Paintings, Sculptures, Stories, Poems, Fashion, Everyday Life....

http://www.fineartamerica.com

What kind of art can we find in music, paintings, sculptures, stories, poems, fashion? Is there art in everyday life?

Like with everyone else, I have been bitten by the television bug too. And for some days, I've been thinking about this question while watching a music talent show. Is there the same art in music as it is in paintings? What kind of art can we identify in stories and poems, and is it same as that found in everyday life, as in fashion, food, etc.?http://www.fineartamerica.com

Some New Paintings that You All Might Like

Hi everyone! Good morning! I have to show you some of the paintings I've completed recently.

But first, great to see you here on my blog once again. It's a beautiful Sunday today. Got up late from sleep, but had to go to the gym. After all, one has to take care of one's health, as I hadn't been there more more than a week.

Last weekend saw me at the Ventura harbor, participation in the Arts in the Park event organized by the Ventura Chamber of Commerce. So a few days were very busy, with hardly any time to think about gymming or exercise. So today there was no go but to go.

After more than an hour at the machines, now I'm ready to take on the day ahead, as well as the coming week. It's so necessary to take care of the body, I realized once again. I've seen that, for me, there is such a close link between my body and my mind. Only when I have exercised, I can function well mentally too.

Recently I finished a few medium sized as well as small paintings. Lot of time and effort has gone into these works. Hope you like them.

Would get back soon. Need to go out now into the sunshine outside and enjoy the day and also get some Vitamin D.

Marketing and Selling Art

The last few days, I have been thinking a lot about how to market art. How I, as an artist, should also focus how to sell the work I have created.

I have surfed the internet to find what other artists are doing in this regard. I am learning a lot of things in the process. As a present day artist, the artist should invariably have a web presence. These would include, an artist's art website, a blog, portfolio in online galleries, etc. etc.

There is a lot I need to learn. Merely showing in physical galleries and joining competitions is not enough. Wielding the painting brush and mixing colors is not sufficient. One should learn the language of the web and be internet savvy.

Thank god my friend had taught me to use the internet in 1998. But I am not an expert yet. Technology can move ahead of you so fast. One always has to keep up with it.
